Serging is a continuous yarn whipped tightly around the edge, the traditional finish on Persian and fine wool rugs. Binding folds a fabric strip over the edge and stitches it down, giving a cleaner, more tailored border.
Either way, we secure the warp and weft before finishing so the newly cut edge holds its shape.
