How Rug Pickup & Delivery Works
- Send photos and dimensions. Text us pictures of the full rug, close-ups of any damage and the approximate size. Most quotes come back the same day, and the quote tells you whether your job is standard pickup or white-glove.
- Pick a collection window. Once you approve the estimate we confirm a window and send a private tracking link so you can follow the van on a map rather than waiting on a call.
- We coordinate your building. If your building needs a certificate of insurance, a reserved freight elevator, doorman notice or service-entrance access, we arrange it before we arrive. There is no charge for this.
- Collection and condition photos. Your rug is wrapped for transport and photographed at collection, so its condition is on record before it leaves. You get a message at every step.
- Return delivery with photo proof. The finished rug is photographed again after washing and before delivery, then returned on a tracked window with photo proof of delivery.
Turnaround is typically 7 to 10 days from collection to return delivery, including drying time.

Getting a room-size rug to a cleaner is the part most New Yorkers dread. It will not fold into a car, it is heavier than it looks, and most buildings will not let a vendor through the door without paperwork. Rug Refinery collects and returns rugs across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island, so the rug never has to go down the stairs on your shoulder.
What free pickup and delivery includes
Standard collection and return delivery are included at no charge anywhere in our service area. If the rug is rolled and waiting at your door, in your lobby or with your doorman, that is standard pickup and you pay nothing for the transport in either direction. We wrap it, photograph it, and bring it back the same way.
Building coordination is also included. Certificates of insurance, freight-elevator reservations, service-entrance access and doorman notice are all arranged before collection at no extra cost — we do this every week for co-ops and condominiums on the Upper East Side, in Tribeca, SoHo, the West Village and Brooklyn Heights.
When white-glove service is quoted separately
White-glove service is for when the rug cannot simply be handed over. It is quoted with your estimate rather than included, and it covers:
- Coming into the residence to lift, roll and wrap the rug for you rather than collecting it at the door
- Moving furniture — sofas, beds, dining tables — off the rug before it can be rolled
- Oversized rugs and difficult access — room-size pieces, narrow hallways and multi-flight walk-ups that need more than one person on the job
We tell you which tier applies when we send the estimate, so there is no surprise on the day. If you are not sure, send a photo of the room along with the rug.

From the moment collection is scheduled you get a private tracking link with a live map and an estimated window, a message at every stage, and photo proof when the rug is delivered back. Your rug is photographed at pickup, after washing and before delivery, so its condition is documented the whole time it is with us.
What it costs
Standard pickup and delivery is free. Professional rug cleaning is $7.00 per square foot — an 8' × 10' rug works out to $560. Repairs, restoration, resizing and specialty stain treatment are quoted individually, and white-glove in-home service is quoted with the estimate based on the rug's size, your building and the access involved.
